Hi, my name is Jaquawna and I’m a natural-haired nature enthusiast. I enjoy hiking, camping, kayaking, and stargazing. There’s a certain peace that being outdoors brings. As a single working mom, college student and business owner, the need to disconnect, relax, and recharge is absolutely necessary. On the other side of that coin, there’s the thrill of new adventures and explorations.
Growing up in a rural town in South Carolina, the stereotype was that outdoor recreation was a “white” thing. I aspire to break that stereotype and broaden the minds of African American individuals and families. In sharing my solo and family adventures, I aim to inspire others to step outside of their comfort zone and try something new, learn something new, and find a new appreciation for the natural environment around us.
Face fears. Be curious. Be adventurous. Dare to be different. Break generational curses. Empower others.
